Inspira by Proton

well well now. proton have done it again. producing a new car called inspira from short of inspiration. one can't help to wonder where exactly the inspiration came from to create or rather copy 1:1 from the Mitsubishi lancer.

well, who am i to judge the decision making of the guy that manage proton and to copy mitsubishi and rebadge the lancer and call it inspira. and with the slogan "smart guy gets it". what does it really want to call out to? only smart guy will buy it? smart guy will get it why copy the lancer? smart guy get it how proton works? gets what?
and it comes with a mivec engine.

sadly, after 27 years, proton still depending on foreign car manufacture for the blueprint and for engine. i could only guess the dialog between the engineers will be as:

Engineer 1:
"gather around fellers. we have a new project. our MD have get hold a blueprint for the lancer. like the previous projects, lets see where can we change the interior and exterior so that it wont be the same as the lancer"

Engineer 2:
"lets change the rev and speedo meter. from lancer's right rev meter, we change it to left rev meter for the new project. and the lancer left speedo meter to the right for the new project."

Engineer 1:
"sounds good. anyone else"

Engineer 3:
" how bout the middle info screen we change to clarion cd player. that will cut some cost"

Engineer 1:
"ok. anyone else?"

Engineer 2:
"we might want to change the front and back bumper. and add our own proton logo. make it look more sporty. that way its unique."

Engineer 1:
" yea yea. good idea. that way we can call it Inspiria short for inspiration. cool huh"

Engineer 2 & 3:
" yea. inspiration. nice name."

Engineer 1,2 & 3:
"proton boleh. Malaysia boleh."

i could only imagine the engineers have no sense of originality and can only copy and paste like a photostat machine to come up with mitsubishi rebadge and call it malaysian car.

one hand applaud the magnificant achievement for proton to copy other make car and on the other feel's that proton are going out of business and the only way to revive its popularity is to cloud citizen of malaysia with rebadge.

well, lets just see if the next few month the new inspiria will give its owner any problems like the other proton's car
